Kanpur / Kannauj: The entire country is curious to know how much money has been found on record from the basements and caves of Uttar Pradesh’s perfume trader Piyush Jain’s houses in Kanpur (Kanpur News) and Kannauj (Kannauj News). According to government data, a total of Rs 196 crore has been recovered from Piyush Jain’s houses and godowns in Kanpur and Kannauj. The overall update of the raids carried out in the houses of Piyush Jain in Kanpur and Kannauj so far has come, according to which, till now the total Caesar is Rs 213.45 crore, which includes cash, gold and sandalwood oil. Price is also included. The total recovery can be understood in such a way that Rs 177.45 in cash has been recovered from Kanpur, while Rs 19 crore has been found from Kannauj. At the same time, 23 kg gold brick has also been found, which is worth about Rs 11 crore. Apart from this, sandalwood oil has also been found, which is 600 kg and its cost is Rs 6 crore. In this way, the DGGI team has seized a total of Rs 213.45 crore including cash and goods.
The cash found from both the houses of Piyush Jain has been seized by the GST Department and Piyush Jain was arrested and sent to jail under Suction 132 of CGST Act. The court had sent Piyush Jain to judicial custody for 14 days on Monday itself. At the same time, another mountain of trouble has broken on Piyush Jain. In the gold smuggling case, the DRI has registered a case against Piyush Jain under 110 of the Custom Act and has taken 23 kg of recovered gold in its possession.
DRI i.e. Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence suspects that all the gold recovered from Piyush Jain were smuggled from Dubai. For this reason, an attempt has been made to erase the serial number of the gold biscuit. It is believed that DRI will soon take the custody of Piyush Jain by applying in the court.
