Expansion
After six months of exercise, the Divisional Transport Office canceled the registration of more than 60 thousand private two wheelers and four wheelers registered in Agra district. On March 31, the period of suspension of these vehicles had expired, but the details were recorded on the vehicle portal, after removing which the registering officer declared these vehicles as junk. Now no application will be accepted regarding these vehicles.
Operation of such vehicles prohibited in TTZ
Private vehicles 15 years and above cannot operate in TTZ. The RTO in November 2021 had marked 45 thousand two wheelers and 15 thousand four wheelers (metador, auto, car) registered in the district till the year 2006. Notices were given to the owners of these vehicles to re-register them in non-TTZ districts. The registrations were kept suspended for six months, so that people could get their vehicles registered in other districts by taking No Objection Certificate, but less than one thousand private drivers got NOC.
Their registrations were to be canceled on March 31, 20 more days were given. They were declared junk on Friday. Registration Officer ARTO (Administration) Anil Kumar Singh told that now their operation will be illegal. On Friday, its due information has also been published in the form of a release.
Till now more than one and a half lakh vehicles got scrapped
About one lakh private vehicles registered with the RTO till 2005 were first declared junk in 2018. Since then vehicles that have completed 15 years of age are being marked every year. Now the vehicles from UP 80 AE to UP 80 AR before March 2006 are junk. If they are found operating on the road, the enforcement teams of RTO will seize and destroy them.
