After the death of a child peeping out of the school bus in Ghaziabad, the transport department in Firozabad has now become alert. The checking of school vehicles has been started. Of the 1,300 school vehicles in the district, 683 vehicles are unfit. RTO has issued notices to all of them.

School vehicles carrying ladles are unfit. After the death of a child from a school vehicle in Ghaziabad, questions are being raised on the condition of vehicles. Of the more than 1,300 school vehicles registered in the district, 683 are unfit. Notices have been issued to them, but till now no action has been taken on them. There are many buses, which do not have rods on their windows, due to which children keep their heads out in the moving bus. A similar incident happened in Ghaziabad, in which the child lost his life.

Buses not as per standard
School buses and vehicles running on the roads of Suhagnagari do not have arrangements as per the standard. While women care takers have not been deployed in school vehicles, on the other hand, important equipments such as CCTV cameras, panic buttons, GPS are also not installed. Young children are not allowed to sit with the driver’s seat, but small children are also being accommodated in the front seat.
This is the situation when the Transport Department is continuously checking. In the last few days, action was also taken against 110 vehicles for non-compliance with the norms. ARTO administration Rajesh Kardam told that a checking campaign is being run against school vans. Continuous action is being taken. So far, more than a hundred school vehicles have been challaned. Vehicles without standards are being seized.
