70-year-old Lilavati is sitting on hunger strike in front of the Collectorate in Moradabad. 6 months ago her husband was also sitting on hunger strike for justice. Justice was not found, but sitting on hunger strike – he definitely died sitting.
The couple’s quarter to three bighas of land was grabbed 10 years ago by Mahendra Singh (sacked constable), a relative of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP. Then there was the government of BSP and this soldier who was posted in Civil Lines used to speak loudly. For 10 years this family has been demanding justice. After the death of her husband, son and brother-in-law, now 70-year-old Lilavati has come out to seek justice.
The land was fraudulently grabbed by making an agreement
Lilavati, a resident of Dhimri, who was sitting on a hunger strike at the Collectorate, says that in 2011, constable Mahendra Singh came to her house. After fixing the land at a good rate, he had got the agreement done for his three and a half bighas of land. The constable had said that he would do plating on this land. It was decided that the plots would be sold and he would continue to get them denominated directly in the name of the buyer by paying money.
Lilavati says that after two years, when constable Mahendra started cutting trees standing in the field, he protested. But the soldier drove them away. It was found that by fraudulently through the agreement, he had got the land registered.

Veervati died of heart attack after snatching the land
Lilavati tells that Mahendra soldier used to call his relative as minister in those days. These leaders were the MLAs of BSP from one seat of Mandal in those days. Due to being in power, the local administration used to treat the MLA like a minister. Lilavati told that Sepoy Mahendra had grabbed the land of his brother-in-law Veervati in a similar manner by deceitfully making an agreement.
When she came to know that the land was snatched, she had a heart attack in shock and she died. Veervati’s husband had died. He had no children. Lilavati told that she made a lot of efforts but the police did not take any action in the matter.

4 years ago son was beaten to death
Lilavati, who was on hunger strike, told that 4 years ago the police had taken her son along for investigation. The police had asked to show the land on which the constable had occupied. After investigating, the police left from there. Lilavati’s son Rajiv remained there. Leelavati told that Mahendra Singh along with his companions beat up his son mercilessly. Due to which his son died. But Mahendra is a relative of the BSP leader, so the police did not register a case even after lakhs of efforts.

Lilavati tells that 6 months ago her husband Sher Singh was sitting on a hunger strike for justice. He died sitting on hunger strike. But still the police did not take any action. Lilavati told that after the death of her husband Sher Singh, the then CO threatened her on the contrary. After the dead body reached the crematorium, he and his family were kept in his office.

Security guard has also committed suicide
Due to the handiwork of constable Mahendra, a security guard also committed suicide in 2010 in Mangupura of Majhola police station area. This security guard living on rent in Mangupara committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed rifle. In his suicide note, he had held constable Mahendra responsible for his death. The security guard wrote in his suicide note-
‘Mahendra Diwan ji grabbed my land by deceit. Then on the pretext of help, took my wife along. wronged him. Then by taking my wife to Lucknow, he got the minister to do the wrong thing. I am ashamed that’s why I am giving my life.
No action taken even after suicide note
A two-page suicide note was found in this suicide in Mangupura. But still no action was taken in this matter. The then ASP/CO Civil Lines Vinod Kumar Singh had taken this suicide note with him. There was a BSP government in the state then and constable Mahendra was very close to a strong BSP leader. So the police buried the matter.
Sepoy Mahendra has grabbed the land of many people
Around 2010, the coin of the soldier was running because of his relative. At that time, he grabbed the lands of many people in Moradabad and the surrounding area by fraudulently. He used to work like a property dealer despite wearing a police uniform. Due to the hand of the BSP leader on the head, the senior officers of the police department used to ignore his actions. He also grabbed many lands in Agwanpur area. After leaving the BSP government, he was dismissed from the department in view of the constable’s misdeeds. But the people on whom he committed atrocities have not got justice till date.
