Amritsar. Even before the Aam Aadmi Party government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann was sworn in in Punjab, AAP’s newly elected MLA from Amritsar East, Jeevanjot Kaur has come into action. He made surprise visits to the city’s police station and hospital. Newly elected MLA from Amritsar East Assembly Constituency, Jeevanjot Kaur on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection at Verka Milk Plant, Government Hospital and Police Station to check the presence and functioning of employees.
At Verka Milk Plant, Jeevanjot Kaur checked the entry and attendance register and discussed the problems faced by her with General Manager Sukhdev Singh and other senior employees. Jeevanjot Kaur said that all these problems should also be ensured at the earliest. Jeevanjot Kaur took stock of the treatment and facilities provided to the patients in Government Hospital, Verka. Jeevanjot Kaur expressed her displeasure over the filth found especially in the bathroom and women’s ward of the hospital. Similarly, at the Verka police station, AAP MLA Jeevanjot Kaur interacted with the employees and expressed hope that by changing the system, corruption will also end.
Meanwhile, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh claimed that the party would not only fulfill the promises made to the people of Punjab, but would do much more for them. Sanjay claimed that ‘AAP in Delhi not only fulfilled its promises to the people, but did much more than that, similarly in Punjab, AAP, Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann will do more than what they had said.’ Significantly, Sanjay Singh was present in Amritsar to appear before the court in the defamation case filed against him by former Akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia.
In the Punjab Assembly elections, AAP has won 92 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann is going to take oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab on Wednesday. Mann’s swearing-in ceremony will be held in Khatkar Kalan, the native village of great freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in Nawanshahr district. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP President Arvind Kejriwal will be present in this program. Bhagwant Mann was selected as AAP’s chief ministerial candidate through televoting.
