Supporters celebrate the victory of BJP from the city seat.
The alliance registered the victory of its candidates on 4 out of 6, demolishing the BJP’s fortress in the district. BJP candidates were successful in repeating their victory in two seats. In this way, Anil of RLD from Purkaji seat, Chandan Chauhan of RLD from Meerapur, Rajpal Balian of RLD from Budhana, Kapil Dev Aggarwal of BJP from Sadar Muzaffarnagar seat and Vikram Saini of BJP from Khatauli won. The district has won and lost the Budhana seat with the biggest margin. Whereas Sadar seat has seen the toughest contest and Charthawal seat has won the district’s lowest margin.
Polling was held in 2259 booths for six assembly seats in the district. The EVMs of all the booths have been kept in the control room at Naveen Mandi site. A total of 66.74 percent polling was recorded in six seats in the district on February 10. The voting percentage of males was 66.92 and that of females was 66.54. 67.73 in Budhana, 67.05 in Charthawal, 65.20 in Purkaji, 62.59 in Muzaffarnagar Sadar, 69.65 in Khatauli and 68.65 percent in Meerapur seat. In Budhana assembly constituency, 254288 voters out of 375471 had cast their vote in 407 booths. In this sequence 220926 out of 317212 voters cast their votes in 369 booths in Khatauli, 224248 out of 358305 voters in 362 booths in Sadar seat, 221382 out of 330178 voters in 370 booths in Charthawal, Purkaji out of 328528 in 375 booths. 214185 and 215955 out of 314587 voters cast their vote at 376 booths in Meerapur.

Counting of votes took place till 26 rounds in Muzaffarnagar Sadar seat. Here BJP’s Kapil Dev Agarwal has won a big victory. In the last round, BJP’s Kapil Dev got 2995 votes and alliance’s Saurabh Swarup got 3144 votes. In the political contest held on this seat, 224248 out of 358305 votes were cast, out of which BJP’s Kapil Dev got 111149 votes, while RLD candidate Saurabh Swarup Bunty got only 92566 votes against him. Here Minister of State Kapil Dev Aggarwal scored a hat-trick by securing 18583 votes and saved his seat by the biggest margin in his three victories. In this seat, BSP candidate Pushpankar Pal got 10650 votes and Congress candidate Subodh Sharma got 1682 votes. Owaisi’s party AIMIM’s candidate Mohammad Intezar got 3740 votes and Azad Samaj Party’s candidate Councilor Parvez Alam got 723 votes.

From Purkaji seat, RLD candidate Anil Kumar has won by a margin of 6640 votes. Anil Kumar had won the election from here on a BSP ticket. In the last round, RLD candidate former MLA Anil Kumar got 1524 votes while BJP’s candidate MLA Pramod Utwal got 1765 votes. In this seat, alliance candidate Anil Kumar got 92327 votes and BJP’s Pramod Utwal got 85687 votes. In 2012 also, Anil Kumar became MLA after winning the election from this seat, he had joined SP, but contested the election as RLD candidate. From the very beginning, the seat of Anil Kumar was considered heavy in this seat. The strength of the BSP candidate is also being considered for the victory of the alliance in this seat. BSP candidate Surendra Pal Advocate has been successful in getting 27700 votes here. Former minister Deepak Kumar could get only 1749 votes this time and Uma Kiran, who contested from the former minister and Azadi Samaj Party, could get 2314 votes.

The election result in Charthaval assembly seat has been unpredictable. After losing the initial bet here, the alliance has finally waved the flag of victory. SP’s former MLA Pankaj Malik defeated his rival BJP’s Sapna Kashyap by a margin of 5519 votes. In the last 27th round, SP’s Pankaj Malik got 2350 votes and BJP’s Sapna got 981 votes. In this seat, SP candidate Pankaj got 97068 votes and Sapna got 91549 votes. Pankaj Malik’s victory in this seat has also proved his political strategy by his father Harendra Malik. In this seat, the district has won and lost with the smallest margin. In the election results of this seat, Pankaj has proved his existence by winning, as well as the influence of BSP’s Salman Saeed has also proved ineffective here. Salman Saeed got total 25070 votes here. Congress candidate Yasmin Rao could not even cross the 1000 mark. He got only 956 votes.

The election result of Budhana assembly seat has been the election with the biggest victory and defeat margin in the district. Here SP RLD alliance candidate, former MLA Rajpal Balyan defeated BJP’s candidate MLA Umesh Malik by a huge margin of 28422 votes. The distribution of votes for victory and defeat in this seat was above one lakh. BJP candidate Umesh Malik secured 102094 votes, but even after taking more than one lakh votes, he could not maintain his victory, as Rajpal Balyan of the alliance won here by getting 130516 votes. In Budhana seat, only one table was counted in the last round and out of 736 votes polled at booth number 404, Umesh Malik got 416 and Rajpal Baliyan got 52 votes. In this seat, Mohammad Anees of BSP got 10360 votes and Congress candidate Devendra Kumar got 2439 votes. Rajpal Baliyan has been MLA twice before this. He fought from Khatauli both the times, but contested the last election from Budhana and was defeated. This was his fourth election. Along with this, alliance candidate Chandan Singh Chauhan defeated BJP candidate Prashant Chaudhary in Meerapur seat. In Khatauli, BJP candidate MLA Vikram Saini, while saving his seat, defeated Rajpal Saini of the alliance here by a huge margin.

RLD’s candidate Chandan Chauhan won from Meerapur seat by a margin of 27380 votes. He defeated his nearest rival Prashant Chaudhary of BJP. Chandan Chauhan got 107421 votes. While Prashant could get only 80041 votes. Congress candidate and former MLA Maulana Jameel could take only 1258 votes in Meerapur seat. Whereas BSP’s Mohd. Salim got 23797 votes in this seat. Azad Samaj Party candidate Umesh got only 1628 votes in this seat.

BJP’s sitting MLA Vikram Saini won from Khatauli seat for the second time in a row. BJP candidate Vikram Saini got 100651 votes in this seat. While the RLD candidate of the alliance, Rajpal Saini, could get only 84306 votes in this seat. In this way, BJP candidate Vikram Seni won from Khatauli seat by a margin of 16345 votes. Kartar Bhadana of BSP could get only 31412 votes in this seat. While Congress candidate Gaurav Bhati got only 1209 votes.
