Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed concern over the deaths in road accidents. He has directed to set up ‘Road Safety Clubs’ in secondary and higher educational institutions to bring down the death toll in accidents.
A spokesman of the state government said on Thursday that the Chief Minister, after seeing the presentation of the action plan of the departments of revenue collection area before the Council of Ministers, said, “There is a need to work on a massive scale to reduce the death rate due to road accidents in the state.” For this, speed up action towards setting up road safety clubs in all schools of higher education and secondary education in the state.
Panic button for the safety of women in transport corporation buses
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also directed to ensure the arrangement of panic button for the safety of women in the buses of the State Road Transport Corporation. He also ordered to start parcel or courier service by transport corporation buses. The Chief Minister said that in the last five years, more than 26 thousand villages have been connected by bus service of the Transport Corporation. Now efforts should be made that every village where bus service is possible can be provided the benefit of this transport facility.
Five thousand new buses will be included
Yogi also directed to expedite the process of including two thousand newly contracted buses in the fleet of the corporation and five thousand new buses in the fleet.
‘Mineral mapping’ in the rivers of Bundelkhand and Purvanchal
The Chief Minister directed to include new mining areas in the district survey report by locating minerals (mineral mapping) with the help of technical body of major rivers of Bundelkhand and Purvanchal in the next six months. He said that in the next two years, ‘mineral mapping’ should be done in the remaining districts of the state and the number of mining areas of minor minerals should be doubled.
