In Azamgarh district, Tetra Packs started being sold at all country liquor shops, District Excise Officer Anoop Sharma giving information.
Azamgarh district administration has implemented Tetra Pack to check the illegal business of liquor which is going on continuously. It has been fully implemented from the last week of February. The main objective of launching Tetra Pack is to completely curb the ongoing business of illegal liquor in the district. Tetra packs have now been made available at all 303 country liquor shops in the district, so that the business of illicit liquor and spurious liquor can be stopped. So far, 13 accused have been arrested and sent to jail in connection with the deaths due to spurious liquor in the district, among the arrested accused are Rangesh Yadav, nephew of former Bahubali MP Ramakant Yadav.

Daily consumption of five thousand boxes
If we talk about the consumption of country liquor in Azamgarh district, then there are about five thousand boxes. One box holds 45 packs. In such a situation, it can be understood that there is a huge demand for country liquor in the district. This is the reason why people keep trying their hands in the illegal liquor business every day. Two major incidents also took place in the district in a year in which a large number of people died. In such a situation, now the administration is engaged in trying to stop the illegal business of liquor through Tetra Pack.
Excise officer said it will not be misused
Talking to Dainik Bhaskar, District Excise Officer Anoop Kumar Sharma says that earlier the sale of country liquor was done in the shops. And misuse of those powers was possible. People doing illegal liquor business used to buy bottles from Kabadi’s place and sell them in the market after using the lid to make illegal liquor. Because of which incidents happened every day. But now country liquor will be sold in tetra packs only. Excise officer says that after opening the treta pack pouch, it will not be misused, and this will definitely stop illicit liquor makers.
542 shops in the district, eight teams formed for investigation
If we talk about the number of liquor shops in the district, then this number is 542. These shops have 303 country liquor, 132 foreign liquor, two model shops and 105 beer shops. Eight teams have been formed to keep an eye on these shops so that there is no disturbance on the festival of Holi.

Azamgarh SP Anurag Arya said, the campaign will continue on those doing illegal liquor business.
Attachment action on liquor mafia
District’s SP Anurag Arya has seized assets worth more than three crores of liquor mafia Agrahari brothers Rajesh and Brijesh Agrahari under 14A Gangster Act. With this, the property of D-74 gang leader, liquor mafia Motilal Gupta, acquired from the crime, was attached. Motilal Gupta is a resident of Mittupur in Powai police station area of the district. SP Anurag Arya says that strict action will be taken against those who are found guilty in illegal liquor.
10 shops suspended 85 notices, 437 samples taken
Mahul of Azamgarh district, 10 shops connected with illegal liquor business have been suspended so far. With this, notices have been sent to 85 shops in the district and samples have been taken from 437 shops. Action will be taken against those found guilty in the investigation.
