In UP’s Azamgarh Poisonous Liquor Case (Hooch Tragedy) case, Rangesh Yadav, a relative of former MP and Samajwadi Party leader Ramakant Yadav, has been arrested by the police from his house. The adulterated liquor was recovered from the contract of Rangesh Yadav, a relative of Ramakant Yadav. Under the guise of government contract, Rangesh used to do the business of spurious liquor. In this case, the police have so far named 7 accused from two different places. The police have registered a case against seven including Ramakant’s relative Rangesh Yadav under murder and serious sections.
Ramakant Yadav But it is alleged that he had given shelter to Rangesh Yadav, accused of poisonous liquor scandal, in his own house. However, Ramakant Yadav says that a conspiracy is being done against him at the time of elections. Ramakant Yadav is a Samajwadi Party candidate from Phulpur Powai assembly seat. Police say that the involvement of Ramakant Yadav in this case is also being investigated. Meanwhile, the police have raided and arrested 4 people so far. DM Amrit Tripathi says that action will be taken under NSA while confiscating the properties of all the accused.
It is noteworthy that in the Ahraula police station area of the district, five people who consumed liquor from government contracts died on Sunday evening in the atmosphere town. The health of 41 other people deteriorated due to drinking alcohol, who have been admitted to the district hospital. The condition of 6 people remains critical and they are on dialysis. In the entire matter, the District Magistrate has spoken of strict action against the accused. Along with this, the suspension of three officers of the Excise Department has been recommended to the Election Commission. DM Tripathi told that the names of those who have died are Jhabbu, Ramkaran, Rampreet Yadav, Santosh and Shamim.
