SP candidate Rakesh Yadav Guddu arrived in Azamgarh district to file his nomination for the Legislative Council elections.
SP has made Rakesh Yadav Guddu its candidate for the Legislative Council elections to be held in Azamgarh district. Rakesh Yadav also filed his nomination in two sets today. District Election Officer Amrit Tripathi has told that Azamgarh-Mau Local Authority, SP candidate Rakesh Kumar Yadav son Motilal Yadav, resident of village Devara Kadim, Post Maharajganj, Azamgarh, filed his nomination papers by the Election Commission of India. After the announcement of the holiday by the state government, the date of nomination was also extended by two days from March 19 to March 21.

District Election Officer Amrit Tripathi told that today Mohd. Aslam Jamal (Mau) has one set independent, BJP’s Sahajanand four sets, Dr. Manish Tripathi two sets independent, Congress’s Ran Bahadur one set, Dr. Rajni Tripathi one set independent nomination paper. Thus a total of five candidates bought nine sets of nomination papers.
Extended nomination date
District ADM Administration Anil Kumar Mishra said that due to the holiday of Holi by the government, the date of nomination has also been extended. Earlier this date was 19 March which has now been extended to 21 March. Voting for the Legislative Council elections will be held on April 9 and results will be declared after counting of votes on April 12.
