The price of Amazon Prime Membership is going to increase by up to 50%. At present, the company has not given information about when this new price is being implemented, but a discussion of a post by Desi Dime has revealed that new and old members in India will see the new price of membership from December 14. This means that the last day for the user to take membership at the old price of Rs 129, 329, and Rs 999 is till December 13.
After the new update, the Rs 999 plan of Amazon Prime membership will become Rs 1499, which has a validity of 12 months. At the same time, the quarterly plan of Rs 329 will cost Rs 459 and the monthly plan of Rs 129 will cost Rs 179. According to the report, the new price will start from December 13.
Some time back, the company had indicated that the price hike is due to the continuous addition of new services to the Prime membership. 999 for one year, Prime subscription is the most affordable and attractive plan as compared to the plans offered by Netflix, Apple and other company.
The membership comes with a host of benefits, including one-day delivery through Amazon.com, access to free movies and TV shows on Prime Video, offline access to songs on Amazon Music, and gaming on Prime Gaming.
Amazon says the price hike won’t affect services, and members can still enjoy early early sales and special deals. It also includes free access to Prime Reading books.
Prime Youth offer will remain applicable even after the increase in prices. Users between the age group of 18-24 years will continue to get extra cashback on successful age verification.
