Prayagraj. In an important decision, the Allahabad High Court has stayed the issuance of certificates to successful candidates in the UPTET 2021 held on 23 January 2022. The High Court has given this order while hearing a petition filed to prevent BEd degree holders from appearing in TET (Primary Level). The single bench of Justice Siddhartha gave this order while hearing the petition filed by petitioner Prateek Mishra and others. With this, the High Court has sought a response from the state government on the petition.

The Allahabad High Court has asked the state government whether the NCTE has issued any new notification regarding the appointment of assistant teachers in primary schools to B.Ed candidates. The next hearing on the petition will be on May 16. At the same time, it has been said in the petition that the Rajasthan High Court, in its order issued on 25 November 2021, has quashed the notification of NCTE issued on 28 June 2018, through which BEd degree holders are given assistant in primary school (classes 1 to 5). qualified for appointment as a teacher.

No certificate will be issued till next hearing: High Court
With this, the High Court had said that holders of B.Ed degree cannot be eligible for primary school level teacher. The court has declared the notification of NCTE issued on 28 June 2018 as illegal. A petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court on this basis, seeking a stay on the release of the results of BEd degree holders included in TET 2021 (Primary Level) held on 23 January 2022. The court has fixed May 16 for hearing the matter. It has also been said that no certificate will be issued till the next hearing. UP TET 2021 exam was held on 23 January 2022. Whereas its result was released on 8th April.

It is worth mentioning that to become a teacher in primary and upper primary schools, passing the UPTET exam is included in the mandatory qualification. The validity of TET certificate was earlier 5 years, but now the UP government has made the validity of TET certificate for life.
