BJP has declared candidates for 5 out of 7 assembly seats in Deoria. In the remaining two seats, the candidates are confused about the selection. Dozens of people are said to be contenders for tickets from both the seats. BJP is aiming to win all the seven seats this time. Therefore, great care is being taken in the selection of candidates. Let us inform that in the last assembly elections, BJP had won 6 out of 7 seats, while one seat was captured by SP.
The BJP has not yet declared candidates for the Salempur assembly and Bhatparrani assembly. BJP’s Kali Prasad is the MLA from Salempur Assembly, while SP’s Ashutosh Upadhyay is the MLA from Bhatparrani Assembly. Bhatparrani Vidhan Sabha is the stronghold of the Upadhyay family. Because of this, BJP is taking great care in candidate selection here. At the same time, Salempur assembly is currently a reserved seat. The party wants to bet on a winning candidate here too without taking any risk.
Ticket contenders from Salempur
There is a long list of contenders in the BJP including the sitting MLA Kali Prasad from Salempur seat. Among those seeking tickets, Amar Nath Pal, Nirmala Gautam, former IRS Ram Aadhar, Mithlesh Baba, Ravindra Kaushal, Manju Paswan, Vimlesh Pal, Ram Naresh Paswan are active in the area, describing themselves as major ticket contenders.
Ticket contenders from Bhatparani
In the last election from Bhatparrani assembly, BJP had fielded Jaynath Kushwaha, brother of Salempur MP Ravindra Kushwaha, but the BJP candidate had to face defeat at the hands of SP’s Ashutosh Upadhyay. In view of the defeat in spite of the wave last time, the party is in a dilemma regarding the candidate selection here.
However, from this assembly also Jaynath Kushwaha, Sabha Kunwar Kushwaha, Ashwani Singh, Ravi Pratap Kushwaha, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Harichandra Kushwaha, Dhananjay Singh Baghel, Rajkumar Shahi are active in the area claiming themselves to be contenders.
