Amid the rise in Covid-19 cases, CBSE, CISCE and other boards are confused as to when and how to conduct the class 10 and 12 board exams in 2022. Last year, almost all the boards had to cancel the 10th and 12th board exams and released the results on the basis of internal assessment.
Following the situation last year, several boards like CBSE and CISCE have decided to bifurcate the board exams for this academic year. CBSE and CISCE had taken the Term 1 exam in November-December, but, the Term 2 board exam dates are yet to be released. Many state boards like Maharashtra and Bihar announced that they will conduct the board exams as per the schedule. Know the condition of state boards.
1. Rajasthan Board
Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education has postponed the practical examinations of class 12th in view of the prevailing situation of Kovid-19 across the country. Rajasthan Education Minister Bulaki Das Kalla said that the decision to postpone the examination was taken after marking 25 districts of the state in the red zone. There is no update on the new dates for class 12 practical exams. According to media reports, if the situation of Kovid-19 worsens, then the board examinations of class 10 and 12 can also be postponed. RBSE class 10 and 12 board is going to start from March 3, 2022.
2. Madhya Pradesh Board
MPBSE will conduct the Board Exam 2022 from February 12, 2022. The pre-boards of class 10 and 12 will be conducted from January 20, 2022. However, the pre-board has been moved to take-home mode. Students will be able to appear for the exam sitting at their homes.
3. Bihar Board
Bihar Board Intermediate and Matric board examinations are to be held from February 1. Bihar Education Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary has said that the exam will be conducted as per the schedule set by BSEB.
4. Uttar Pradesh Board
UP Board is likely to conduct the exam after the UP elections in 2022. Hence, students can expect the exam to start in March. The practical exam for both class 10 and 12 students is likely to be held in the third week of February.
5. West Bengal Board
There is no plan to change the schedule of the upcoming board examinations in West Bengal as of now. But, with many WBBSE and WBCHSE board members getting infected with COVID-19, it will be very difficult for the board to conduct the exam. The board exams are scheduled to be held in March and April.
6. Assam Board
Board of Secondary Education, Assam will start class 10 board exam from 15th March 2022. There is no update yet on the postponement of board exams.
7. Maharashtra Board
Maharashtra class 10 and 12 board will be conducted as per the schedule given by the Maharashtra board. Class 12 board exams will start from March 4, 2022 and class 10 board exams will start from March 15, 2022.
8. Gujarat Board
Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Education will conduct the examination from March 28 to April 12, 2022.
9. Karnataka Board
Karnataka SSLC 2022 exam will start from March 28 to April 11, 2022. It has been said by the Karnataka Board of Secondary Education that these dates are tentative, they can be changed later.
10. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
CBSE has released the sample papers of Term 2 board exam on its website. The examinations are likely to be held in March-April. But, the board said that the second term will be organized only when the situation of Kovid-19 gets better across the country.
11. Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE)
CISCE has already conducted Term 1 exam. Term 2 will be conducted only when the situation of Kovid-19 gets better. In case Term 2 is not conducted, the final result will be on the basis of Term 1, Internal Assessment and Practical Test.
