Kanpur Municipal Corporation took major action against the encroachers.
On Thursday, the bulldozer of the Municipal Corporation roared on the illegal occupations settled on the banks of drains from Sahu Namkeen Bhandar to Pollution Control Board located at Jarauli Phase-1. Around 150 temporary and 5 pucca houses were demolished during this period. Seeing the action being taken by the Municipal Corporation, people started protesting against it, but due to the presence of police force, the matter was pacified. After which the team got all the land vacated.
37 thousand rupees fine
Zone-3 officer Radheshyam Patel told that JE Ram Sumer Yadav, Zone-2 Engineering Division Enforcement Team in-charge Awadhesh Singh, Laxman Singh, Virendra Swarup, Ramendra Singh and other officers were present. During the action, a fine of Rs 32,700 was also collected from the encroachers.
Force to many police stations was present
The information about the major encroachment was already given to the regional police. Seeing the protest, the surrounding police force was also called. At the same time, the enforcement squad of the Municipal Corporation also handled the situation by taking a front from the protesting people. Municipal commissioner Sivasharanappa GN said that the action against the encroachers would continue.
