New Delhi :
Sarv Pitru Amavasya 2022 Niyam: Sarva Pitru Amavasya will be celebrated on Sunday, 25 September. This is the last day of Pitru Paksha. At the time of Pitru Paksha, ancestors come to earth and they wish their descendants to perform Shradh for themselves. Therefore, along with offering prayers for the ancestors, food and donations must be made for them. It has been told in the scriptures that if the Brahmins are making a feast on the new moon day, then it is necessary to follow some rules. According to these rules, the ancestors get peace by performing Shradh Bhoj and Pitra Dosh is also removed. It is believed that if Shradh Karma is done with the rules, then only the full benefit of it is received not only by the ancestors but also the person performing the Shradh and his entire family. In such a situation, let us know about those rules of Sarva Pitru Amavasya.
– On the day of Sarvapitri Amavasya, the Brahmins you are going to feed for the rituals of Shradh, then tell them in advance so that the Brahmins who receive the feast can do the evening. Brahmins should always be listeners and should be chanting Gayatri Mantra everyday.
During Shradh ceremony on Sarvapitri Amavasya Tithi, Brahmins and the one who serves food should eat food in silence. If something is necessary, it should be told in gestures only. It is not considered right to speak or call a Brahmin during the feast, as food does not reach the ancestors, so give information in gestures.
The food of Shradh should neither be praised nor evil because this food goes directly to the ancestors. As the food is prepared, it should be accepted as prasad. If there is less sugar or salt etc., then tell in gestures, but do not remove the deficiency in the meal.
During the Brahmin feast on Sarvapitri Amavasya Tithi, always keep in mind that keep coming and going with food in front of the Brahmin. Don’t ask what you need more or what is lacking. By doing this, there is an interruption during the meal, which is not liked by the ancestors.
On the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya, the Brahmin whom you are inviting for the feast, then care should be taken that Brahmins should not perform Shradh after re-food or at someone else’s house after your home. Eating food in more than one house is not considered right.
If you are doing Shradh on Pitru Amavasya, then donate it on that day or before the meal, donate it to any other Brahmin. Don’t donate donations to Brahmins on the day of Shradh Bhoj.
One day before Pitru Amavasya, all the members of the household should eat sattvik food and stay away from tamasic food. At the same time, one should also stay away from reactions.
On the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya, feed the feast of Shraddha Karma on Palash leaves or feed it in silver and bronze utensils. Earthen utensils are not used in Brahmin feast.
