welfare : If citizens adopt the habit of cleanliness, it will not take time to clean the city, cleanliness is a habit. If every citizen adopts that habit then a movement will be formed and with this movement the city will be clean. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Bhausaheb Dangde expressed such views while appealing to the people to join the cleanliness campaign. The Indian Cleanliness League is being celebrated by the Municipal Corporation for a fortnight (September 17 to October 2, 2022) under the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav. Under this, he said this while addressing a grand rally of municipal officers, employees, teachers, students, representatives of social organizations organized at the municipal headquarters.
On this occasion the brand ambassador of this initiative of the Municipal Corporation, Dr. Prashant Patil, Dr. Ashwin Kakkar of IMA, Deputy Commissioner Solid Waste Department Atul Patil, Municipal Secretary Sanjay Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner Vinay Kulkarni, Executive Engineers Tarun Juneja, Ghanshyam Navangul, Rohini Lokare, Prashant Bhagwat, Information and Public Relations Officer Madhavi Pofle, Deputy Secretary Kishor Shelke, Education Officer Vijay Sarkate, Assistant Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Kumawat, Suhas Gupte, Savita Hille, Hema Mumbarkar, Dinesh Waghchaure, Deputy Chief Sanitation Officer Augustine Ghete and others of the Municipal Corporation. Officers, employees and around 800 to 850 students from colleges and schools of the municipal area were present. On this occasion officers, staff and teachers, students took oath of cleanliness.
Cleanliness drive launched
This grand rally started from the Municipal Headquarters and took out through Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Agra Road, Sahajanand Chowk till Durgadi Fort Ganesh Ghat. A cleanliness campaign was conducted through the people present here. Also, Deputy Commissioner Atul Patil at Ganesh Ghat told the students present how it will help in the separation of wet waste, dry waste, plastic waste, sanitary waste and in cleaning the city. Guided through a demonstration on this. After that the students present also expressed their views about the importance of garbage segregation and cleanliness and it was felt that the movement of cleanliness would reach the homes through the students.
