Was living on Govardhan Parikrama Marg for two months
On Wednesday evening, a foreign national died suspiciously in Shri Radha Madan Mohan Das Ashram, located near Govind Kund on Parikrama Marg in Govardhan. When the police reached the spot on receiving information, the police found the body of 30-year-old Alek Zander, a resident of Ukraine, hanging from a latch near the window in the room.

On Wednesday evening, when there was no movement in the room of Ukrainian resident Alek Zander, Mahant Janaki Das of the ashram informed the police station Govardhan. As soon as the information was received, the police station Govardhan Police, LIU and forensic team reached the spot. Police recovered visa, passport, laptop and mobile phone from the spot. The forensic team also collected evidence from the room. Police took off the body and sent it for postmortem.
Foreign national came with a friend on tour
Alek Zander had come to visit Braj two months ago with his friend Brajnandan, a resident of Ukraine. On December 11, Brajnandan went back to Ukraine while Alek remained here. A Russian couple was also living in the same room as Alek. The Mahant of the ashram told that when Alek did not leave the room, he informed the police. After which he was seen hanging on the noose.
Police informed the embassy
In the case of death of a foreign national, SHO Govardhan Rajkamal said that a letter has been received from the foreign national in which he has written to perform his last rites in Braj. The body has been sent for postmortem and the embassy has been informed.
