New Delhi. Bullet train running between Delhi and Agra (Delhi-Agra Bullet Train) Big news is coming about. According to media reports, if everything goes according to plan, by the year 2029-30, bullet trains can run every hour between the national capital Delhi and Tajnagri Agra at a speed of 300 km per hour.
According to a report in the English newspaper Times of India, Between Delhi and Varanasi high speed rail project (Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail Project) will be 958 km long and will also have a short 123 km long line, which will connect Lucknow and Ayodhya.
Bullet train project will have 12 stations covering major pilgrimages
According to the report, there will be a combination of high stretches with tunnels along the route due to security requirements. Apart from this, an underground station will also be set up at Jewar Airport in Noida. There will be a total of 12 stations covering major pilgrimages in UP like Mathura, Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi. The total project cost is estimated to be around Rs 2.3 lakh crore.
According to the report, with the introduction of the bullet train, the total travel time between Delhi and Varanasi will come down from the current 11-12 hours to just three hours. After this, there will be around 63 trips daily between Delhi and Agra, while the national capital will make 43 trips between Delhi and Lucknow, 18 for Varanasi and 11 for Ayodhya.
The UP government is making efforts to bring a holy city like Ayodhya on the world tourism map and is showing great interest in completing this project soon. It is reported that the one-way fare of bullet train between Delhi and Ayodhya will be less than air travel.
