In the district panchayat, there is an allegation of not giving money to the opposition members for development work. Two days ago, 13 members of the Zilla Panchayat addressed the Bhakyu National President Ch. He met Naresh Tikait and narrated his woes. He had alleged that there are 13 district panchayat members of the opposition who are being discriminated against on the development of the area.
It was alleged that the district panchayat president and officers were discriminating in the development of their area. It was decided that all the members would stage a sit-in on Tuesday in the district panchayat office under the banner of Bhakiyu. Under the fixed program on Tuesday, 13 members of the farmers and district panchayat started dharna in the office under the banner of BKYU.
BKU national spokesperson Ch. Rakesh Tikait said that he knows who is running the Zilla Panchayat from behind the scenes. However, discrimination against elected members will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said that everyone has equal rights on the Zilla Panchayat, be it the party or the opposition.
Tikait warned that the Zilla Panchayat AMAs should improve their functioning, otherwise they know what can be done. During this, BKU leaders including Dharmendra Malik, Yogesh Sharma were involved.
