new Delhi. People conscious of their health often shy away from using public restrooms. They fear that it may cause urinary tract infection (UTI). Usually, even in their toilet, women have a lot of fear about it. Although it is also true that if there is urinary infection due to use of public toilet, then its effect will be more on women. But how much is its truth. Experts say that there is no scientific evidence about this. On the social media platform Instagram, Dr. Tanya has pacified the curiosity of people in this regard. He has said that if the toilet seat is used properly, then there is no fear of any kind of UTI.
Dr. Tanya runs a page on Instagram named Dr. Cuterus. While sharing a video, Dr Tanya said that nowadays companies are selling a lot of sanitizers to make toilet seats safe. They claim that this will kill the germs from the toilet seat.
bacterial infection difficult
Dr Tanya says that there is no benefit from these sanitizers because if you sit on the toilet seat properly then there will be no risk of infection. According to Tanya, when someone sits on the toilet seat, the organ there does not stick to the toilet seat while urinating. Dr Tanya explained with the dummy device that usually the urinary organ does not stick to the toilet seat, but if you sit on the corner of the toilet incorrectly, then it can stick. However there is no chance of this happening. Dr Tanya told that even if there are bacteria in the toilet, it will not suddenly fly away and reach the urethra (urinary tract). Therefore, it is very difficult for bacteria or germs to enter the urethra from the toilet seat.
Drinking enough water to avoid UTI
In the video, he told that to avoid bacteria, one has to learn how to clean it after urinating. He explained through the demonstration that after urinating, if you wipe the tissue paper from behind and bring it towards the urethra, then this is the wrong way. The correct way is to start from the urethra and wipe it back with a tissue paper. Dr Tanya says that if you want to avoid UTI then the easiest way is to drink enough water and do not hold urine. Because dehydration and stopping urination is the biggest reason for UTI.
