Railways has decided to change the Garib Rath Express running between Kanpur and Kathgodam. It has been decided to change the coach of this train. As a part of the change, all the AC III coaches of the express will be converted into economy coaches. With this change, passengers will get relief in fares. This has been confirmed by the Railway Media Cell.
Passenger capacity will increase by converting to economy coach
All the 12 AC III coaches of the Kanpur to Kathgodam Express will be converted into AC III Economy coaches. With the conversion of AC III coach into economy, 83 passengers will now be able to travel in each coach instead of 72. This will allow more passengers to be carried at a time. By doing this, 11 berths will be increased in a coach.
Fare will be lower due to increase in passenger numbers
Railways informed that there will be some reduction in fares to the passengers due to having an economic coach. While the facilities will be almost same. This will benefit the passengers. About 132 more passengers will be able to travel in the entire train at a time. Travelers mainly going to Uttarakhand will get a big relief.
Kanpur Express canceled due to interlocking work
Indian Railways has canceled Durg Kanpur Express. Express has been canceled due to ongoing interlocking work at Bilaspur railway station in Chhattisgarh. Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway said that train number 18203 Durg Kanpur Express will not travel on 16th and 8th February. Whereas train number 18204 from Kanpur Central to Durg will remain canceled on February 27 and 9.
An additional coach will be added to the special train
Railway was informed that weekly special train number 04151 and 04152 running between Kanpur Central to Lokmanya Tilak Terminal LTT will be connected with an additional coach from Kanpur Central from February 4 to 25. Whereas an additional AC three coach will be added from February 5 to 26 in the train running from LTT to Kanpur.
