Shahjahanpur. Due to the Russia-Ukraine war and the central government’s decision to export wheat, the prices of wheat in Shahjahanpur are increasing continuously. As soon as the news of wheat exports is heard, private companies are continuously buying wheat of farmers in the mandis, while on the other hand, there is a crowd of farmers in flour mills. Due to the purchase of wheat by private companies, there is silence in the government wheat purchasing centers. The surprising thing is that so far only 3240 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in April. In such a situation, where the farmers seem happy due to the farmers getting more rates than the MSP, on the other hand, private companies are engaged in making big money out of the blood and sweat of the farmers.
The mandis of Shahjahanpur have always been able to procure wheat all over the state. Government purchasing centers have always been giving profits to the farmers, but this time private companies are giving more rates to the farmers than the government rate. On the other hand, farmers are selling their wheat daily in flour mills at the rate of Rs 2130 per quintal. Farmers say that if the price of their produce continues to be higher in this manner, then not only will they be profitable by getting more money than their cost price, but this business will start growing even more.
Silence at government purchasing centers
In fact, due to the Ukraine-Russia war, where foreign companies are asking for wheat from the Indian government, the Indian government has also decided to export wheat, due to which private companies have become active in purchasing wheat. Due to which the wheat of the farmers is being bought hand in hand in the mandis. Wheat of farmers is being bought in the mandis at Rs 2130 per quintal, while the government rate is only Rs 2015. In such a situation, this time the farmers do not have to go round the government purchase centers, while on the other hand, the government purchasing centers are seen deserted. So far only 2150 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in the district in the month of April.
farmers’ happiness
Shahjahanpur Whether it is wheat or paddy, farmers have always produced the highest amount of grain to the government storage, but the farmer has not always been able to extract the cost price of his grain. Due to which this farming has proved to be a loss-making deal for them, but this time the farmers are looking happy due to getting a fair price for the grain. Although private agencies will earn huge profits from the wheat procured from these farmers, it has become a compulsion for the farmers to sell wheat at this time because they have to sell this wheat and plant their second crop.
