West Champaran. Sitaram Dhun has been going on continuously for 19 years in Sitaram Ashram of Bagaha city. Sitaram Dhun Sankirtan was started in 1999, but in 2003, the people of Bagaha took a pledge to continue Sitaram Dhun Sankirtan continuously for 14 years by forming a committee. But, after 14 years have passed, this sankirtana is continuing even today. Sometimes 10 to 15 people and sometimes only two people are seen sitting and doing Sitaram Sankirtana.
It is said that on May 27, 1984, an ashram was built in the name of Devraha Baba. It was here in 1999 that a yagya was conducted by the ascetic Atmanand Das Mahatyagi. Since then the name of this temple is Sitaram Ashram. There are also some sevadars who are permanently camping in the temple premises who chant in the temple. After two to three hours of kirtan it is the turn of others.
Food, fruits and vegetables are arranged by the temple to these servitors. Along with this, in the morning and evening, women and men from the surroundings reach the temple and perform Sitaram Sankirtana. The idols of Rama, Sita and Lakshmana are seated inside the temple. in front of which the sankirtana is performed.
These people started
Munnu Babu, Sitaram Kushwaha, Bhola Mishra, Munna Singh, Harishankar Sahni, Shyam Badan Yadav, Lal Bahadur Singh, Moon Devi, Surendra Singh, Ram Tiwari, Ishwar Prasad, Surya Nath Tiwari, Kailash Tiwari, Tiroki Pathak etc. After this Sitaram Sankirtana was started.
Gradually the glory of this temple started spreading all around. Along with the city, the people of the village also started joining it. Many people also took annual membership. People also started making financial contribution in the year for Sitaram Sankirtana.
Sitaram Sankirtana will go on continuously
Tyagi Baba, the founder of Sitaram Ashram, told that although Sitaram Sankirtana was going on for many years, but in 2003, a pledge of Sitaram Sankirtan was taken for 14 years continuously. Now even 14 years have passed, but this sankirtana will continue continuously. He said that during my lifetime there will be no stop of Sitaram Sankirtana.
