In Fatehpur district, a major action has been taken for negligence in the kidnapping and murder of a girl from a village under Kalyanpur police station area. After the report of the SIT, the SP has suspended four police personnel, including the then Inspector-in-Charge.
Out of these, two were immediately suspended due to being in the district, while correspondence has been done due to non-district posting of two. Here, the family members of the girl have claimed the identity of the dead body. After the action of the DNA sample, the police have said that the identity will be confirmed.
IG Rakesh Singh reached the police line on Sunday evening regarding this matter. He has prepared the report of the entire episode with the SP, ASP, SIT in-charge and team. The report of SIT team in-charge and CO Jafarganj Anil Kumar revealed that a girl from a village in Kalyanpur area had gone missing on February 23, 2021. Happy Singh of the village had gone with the girl. In Surat, Gujarat, the girl pressured Happy to get married. After not getting married, the girl had disappeared from Surat after a few days. The girl’s father complained to the police officers in the matter, but there was no hearing.
A missing person was registered at Kalyanpur police station on April 3, 2021. It is alleged that during the investigation, the investigators SI Mahendra Verma, Yashkaran Singh, Sanjeev Kumar did not make meaningful efforts to find the girl. Accused Happy Singh was told to make allegations due to enmity.
During this, a girl’s half-burnt body was found near Kanspur Gugauli railway crossing in Kalyanpur. One of his hands was also amputated. The family members feared the dead body of the missing daughter to the police and also gave an application. When no action was taken, the girl’s father filed a petition in the High Court.
The High Court ordered the Heavies Corpus in the matter. On the orders of the High Court, Kalyanpur Police registered a case against Happy Singh, Rahi Singh, Sanjay Singh under several sections including kidnapping of a girl, SC-ST. All three were sent to jail. The deliberation was received by Bindki CO Yogendra Singh Malik.
With no progress, the High Court summoned Prayagraj Range IG Dr. Rakesh Singh on April 13 after the SP. The IG immediately constituted the SIT on 7 April. SIT in-charge and CO Jafarganj Anil Kumar started investigation. Based on the SIT investigation report, on the instructions of the IG, SP Rajesh Singh set up a preliminary inquiry against CO Yogendra Singh for negligence in the investigation.
SI Yashkaran Singh, Sanjeev Kumar were suspended for not registering the case at the right time. ASP was ordered to take departmental action. The then in-charge Inspector Keshav Das Verma (Inspector in-charge of Handia police station of Prayagraj present posting) and Mahoba transferred SI Mahendra Verma have been corresponded to be suspended. SP Rajesh Kumar Singh said that the DNA sample of the relatives of the missing girl would be taken. Due to which the identity of the half-burnt body will be confirmed when the DNA is matched.
