A massive fire broke out in Lucknow’s Export Building complex on Thursday afternoon. Soon the fire engulfed the government vehicles parked nearby. Fire brigade reached on information. But by the time the fire was brought under control, three vehicles were burnt.
Chief Fire Officer Vijay Singh said that the fire was reported at around 1:50 pm in the export building of Kaiserbagh. Immediately three fire tenders were dispatched to the spot. When the vehicles reached, the fire was spreading in the garbage spread in the premises. Firefighters immediately started canning water. But the fire had reached three old vehicles parked nearby.
Fire from burning cigarette
The CFO said that the export building complex was mostly dry waste. There was also a pile of dry leaves that had fallen from the tree. It is suspected that someone threw a burning cigarette. Due to this the garbage caught fire. He said that a major accident was averted due to timely control of the fire.
