Noida. The wait of the residents of Greater Noida, who are running for Gangaajal, is about to end. The work of Gangajal pipeline from Ghaziabad to Greater Noida has been completed 99 percent. The deadline has been announced to finish the remaining one percent work by November 30. If there is no technical problem, then the supply of Gangajal will start from the year 2022, January. The plan of the Greater Noida Authority is to supply Gangajal to all the sectors of the city from number one to number 122 and 19 villages, but the beginning is going to start from some villages including all the sectors. The good thing is that now instead of 6, 12 hours water supply will be available. Due to this the quantity of water has also been increased. This scheme, which started in 2015, has been delayed due to land acquisition and Corona-Lockdown.
It should be noted that this scheme was started in 2010. A German organization and the NCR Planning Board have worked on the plan. During the board meeting held at Greater Noida Authority two days ago, it has been decided that all the work related to Gangajal project on 30th November will be completed. After this, after some necessary formalities, the supply of Gangajal will be started to the residents of Greater Noida from January 2022.
With the arrival of Gangajal, the quantity of water will increase by 15 cusecs
According to experts, till now 70 cusecs of ground water is being supplied in Greno. But this water is salty to drink. But under this scheme 85 cusecs of Gangajal will be supplied in Greno. Water treatment plants are also being built to treat Gangajal. The first treatment plant is 11 km away from Dehra. The second has been built in Palla, 18 km from there. Through this route, Ganga water will be brought to the master reserve wire of Greno. Then water will be delivered to the reserve wire made for supply from here. Finally, Gangajal will be supplied to the entire Greno through overhead tanks.
