Varanasi. Survey-videography work was started on Saturday amidst tight security in the famous Gyanvapi mosque complex located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. A survey was conducted here for four hours on Saturday, which has now been completed. Officials said that on Saturday, four cellars located in the mosque premises were surveyed. This survey work will continue on Sunday as well.
Special lighting and cameras have been arranged for videography of the cellars of the mosque complex here. Officials said that the survey team includes the plaintiffs, defendants, advocates associated with them, Advocates Commissioner and Assistant Advocates Commissioner.
Meanwhile, sources said that earlier two cellars were being talked about in the Gyanvapi mosque complex. However, there the survey team found four basements, which have been videographed. Apart from this, the fifth tunnel-shaped basement was also found here, for which the team will go inside tomorrow to survey. Along with this, he told that there have been indications of placing the dome of the mosque instead of the top of the temple. At the same time, trident, swastika, ancient rocks, fragmented idols, and a place to keep lamps have been found inside the cellars. Apart from this, the artwork of Snake and Swan has also been found on the walls.
At the same time, Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh said, ‘The survey work went on peacefully. Neither side created any obstruction. everything is normal. We (police commissioner and district magistrate) are closely monitoring the survey work. He said, ‘Today’s survey has been completed. Tomorrow (Sunday) it will be started once again.
Strict security arrangements were made here regarding the survey in Gyanvapi Masjid premises. Here the movement of people was stopped within 500 meters of the premises. At the same time, the movement of vehicles from Godauliya and Maidagin areas was also restricted. Apart from this, on Saturday, more than 1,500 policemen and PAC jawans were deployed to guard the Gyanvapi mosque complex.
It is worth mentioning that Gyanvapi Masjid is located close to Kashi Vishwanath Dham. A Varanasi court here is hearing a plea by a group of five women seeking permission to offer daily prayers in front of the idols on its outer walls. In view of this, the judge of the civil court (senior division) Diwakar had also directed to videograph the entire mosque complex and submit the report by May 17. (with language input)
