The court asked the commission’s senior advocate Rakesh Pandey and chief standing advocate JN Maurya to get information whether online training can be given to such people.
It was said that in the section 40 of the guidelines of the Election Commission, it is written that online training can be given to the election officials. In the petition, the institute has sought intervention in the training to be held on January 24 and 25 for election work, apprehension of danger due to the departure of unwell people.
It has been said in the petition that 194 people out of 324 have been called for training on January 24 and 25. Some of these 194 people are suffering from such disease, due to which they are more likely to get corona infected. Also, if they go back home after taking the infection, it will not be in the interest of the family. The next hearing of the petition will be held today i.e. on Monday.
