The first coach for Rapid Rail to cover the distance between Damerut-Delhi in just one hour is ready. The first coach, which was built at Alstom in Savli, Gujarat, will be handed over to the Government of India on 7 May. Passengers will get free WiFi, charging station, dynamic route map along with many facilities in this coach, which gives a feeling of luxury travel.

The first trainset of India’s first RRTS corridor has been completed. This coach will be handed over to NCRTC on 7th May 2022 in the presence of Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. Under Make in India, the entire coach has been prepared at Alstom, Savli, Gujarat.

Once the coach is received from Alstom, it will be brought on large trailers to the dairy depot. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is being built in Ghaziabad. Alstom will deliver a total of 210 cars for the RRTS corridor. This includes trainsets for operating regional transport services on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor and local metro services in Meerut.
20First run trial till 22 December

Rapid’s first trial run will begin by the end of 2022. The 17-km priority section between Sahibabad to Duhai is targeted to be commissioned by 2023 and the entire corridor by 2025.
raiWhat will be the specialty in Pid Rail

The Rapid Train running between Delhi and Meerut will run with a design speed of 180 km/h, operational speed of 160 km/h and average speed of 100 km/h. Which will be the fastest train of RRTS in India till date. The Rapid Train has ergonomically designed 2×2 transverse cushion seating, wide standing space, luggage rack, CCTV cameras, laptop/mobile charging facility, dynamic route map, auto control ambient lighting system, heating ventilation and air conditioning system ( HVAC). Air-conditioned RRTS trains will have one coach reserved for standard as well as female passengers and one coach of premium class (one coach per train).
