Varanasi: You will soon be able to see a glimpse of the Kubera incident of Uttar Pradesh’s perfume businessman Piyush Jain on the big screen, because it has been announced to make a film on it. Filmmaker Kumar Mangat Pathak will make a film titled ‘Raid-2’ on the raids of Income Tax Department in Kanpur and Kannauj of Uttar Pradesh. He made this announcement during a panel discussion at the ‘Kashi Film Festival’ organized for the first time in Uttar Pradesh. Let us tell you that he had made the film ‘Red’.
According to news agency PTI, filmmaker Kumar Mangat Pathak said that in his film ‘Raid’, only it was shown that money can also come out of the walls. Whereas in the recent Income Tax raids in Kanpur and Kannauj, the incident of money coming out of the walls actually came to light. In view of this, he made up his mind to make the film ‘Raid-2’. Pathak told that the scene of money coming out of the walls will be shown in this film.
Significantly, in Kumar Mangat’s 2018 film ‘Raid’, actor Ajay Devgan was in the form of an income tax officer and he raids the house of a politician. Actress Ileana D’Cruz and actor Saurabh Shukla were also in this film. However, whether Ajay Devgan will be the hero in Raid Two or not, it is not yet clear.
Let us inform that in the raids conducted by Income Tax and Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in the past, about Rs 197 crore in cash, 25 kg gold and 250 kg silver were recovered from the house of perfume trader Piyush Jain of Kanpur. At present, Piyush Jain is in judicial custody for 14 days and here the DRI has also filed a case under the Customs Act.
Here, during the panel discussion, actor Anupam Kher praised the state government for the development of film city in Uttar Pradesh. He said that with the initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, artists living in different cities of the state would get a platform. Thousands of people joining the film industry would get employment opportunities. During the panel discussion, he shared his association with Lucknow and memories and struggles of the early days of his career.
