At present, the police has started a search in the area, but till now there is no news of the arrest of any terrorist. The special thing is that the operation of the army is going on continuously in Poonch. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also reaching Srinagar on a three-day visit.
On Thursday evening, the security forces tried to stop a vehicle in the Chanpora area. Since then the firing started. According to the Hindustan Times report, a police officer had told that the terrorists involved in the firing could have escaped by resorting to darkness. An official said on condition of anonymity, “The forces are constantly keeping a close watch on the area…”
According to news agency ANI, in another incident, a Border Security Force party got an IED on Chaklu-Tragpura highway in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district on Thursday morning. Only after this the traffic was stopped and the bomb disposal team from the army camp reached the spot and the IED was eliminated. The army informed that after this the traffic was resumed.
The police remains constantly vigilant in the union territory. Recently, the police have increased the number of checking points in the city. Along with this, some two-wheelers have also been seized by the police. IG Vijay Kumar informed through tweet, ‘Seizure of some bikes and internet shutdown at some towers is directly related to terrorist violence. It has nothing to do with the visit of the Honorable Home Minister.
