Police and administration are keeping a close watch so that the situation like violence erupted in Delhi on Hanuman Jayanti does not happen in Lucknow. On Thursday, Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi and ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar themselves took to the road. After taking stock of old Lucknow, both the officers held a meeting at Chowk Kotwali.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi said that peace should be ensured by making proper police arrangements during the month of Ramzan. He said that cooperation should be taken in maintaining religious harmony by meeting religious gurus. It has also been instructed that no new tradition should be started other than what is already prevalent. All the entries of the festival register should be kept complete. He said that all SHOs and senior officers must do foot patrolling for one hour every day.
Policemen of Pink Booth assure the safety of women
Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that the women constables of Pink Booth should show their active role. Talk to the women out in your area and assure them of security. A register should be kept at every pink booth in which the details of public dialogues conducted by women constables should also be kept. ADG Women’s Security Organization Neera Rawat has been directed to inspect the pink booths and make special efforts to keep them active.
Police will take immediate action against those who disturb the atmosphere
Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar directed to take strict action against the chaotic elements who are disturbing communal harmony. He said that strict action should be taken against the top ten criminals. Strict action should be taken against the listed mafia and their punishment should be ensured by giving effective representation in the court. Strict action should also be taken against the policemen involved in this while completely banning drug-taking, gambling betting, illegal recovery and staggered vehicles in the police station area.
Junk vehicles should be removed for cleaning the police stations
The ADG has also given instructions to keep the police station premises clean, auction of unclaimed vehicles and to keep the environment of the police station clean for the visitors. The preparations for Ramzan, Muharram and upcoming festivals were also reviewed after meeting with Commissioner of Police, Lucknow DK Thakur and in-charge of Lucknow Western Police Station, ACP, Additional DCP and DCP.
