Lakhs of rupees were stolen from the house of a lawyer living in Lucknow’s PGI area on Monday night. The victim’s lawyer had gone out with the family for just two hours. Meanwhile, the thieves fled after committing the crime. The victim has given a complaint to the police station expressing suspicion on the neighbor.
According to advocate Manoj Kumar, a resident of PGI’s Sadgurupuram, he had gone to attend an event on Kanpur Road at 10 pm on Monday night with his wife and two daughters. When he returned around 12 o’clock in the night, the main gate was locked, but the locks of the rooms inside were broken. Everything on the shelves was scattered. He told that after breaking Rs 2.25 lakh kept in the cupboard, jewelery worth three lakh and piggy bank of daughters, about 11 thousand rupees kept in it were missing. According to the victim, on giving information on number 112, the police came and returned after investigating. On Tuesday, he reached the PGI police station and gave a complaint. Inspector Dharampal Singh says that investigation is going on.
There was a dispute with the neighbor after leaving the case
Manoj told the police that he was an advocate of a neighbor’s land case. The neighbor used to threaten him repeatedly that if he lost the case, the result would be bad. Because of this, he stopped fighting his case. Since then that neighbor started conspiring against him. When he reached home on Monday night, the same neighbor was found walking outside his house. The thieves must have needed a large ladder to enter the house. Such a big ladder is only with that neighbor in the locality. So they suspect the neighbor’s hand in the conspiracy of theft.
