The husband felt such a shock because of the wife’s death that he tried to kill himself by jumping into her burning pyre during the funeral. However, the people present on the spot pulled him out in time and he suffered only minor injuries. On getting information about the incident, the police also reached the spot and got him admitted to the hospital.
According to the information received, Brijesh Kushwaha, a resident of Jaitpur town, was married in the year 2016 with 23-year-old Uma, a resident of Akauna village under Ajnar police station. On Thursday night, Uma’s body was found lying on the bedroom floor. The noose of the scarf was tight around his neck. In such a situation, Brijesh’s in-laws have accused him of dowry death.

Tej Kunwar, mother of the deceased Uma, alleged in the complaint lodged with the police that about a week ago her daughter was assaulted by her in-laws for demanding money. After this, he collected 70 thousand rupees from relatives and gave it to his son-in-law Brijesh.
On the other hand, Brijesh is calling the allegation of killing his wife in the greed of dowry as baseless. In this case, the Naib Tehsildar of Kulpahar police station, Pankaj Gautam, recorded the statements of the family members and sent the body for post-mortem after conducting a panchnama.
