Before the counting of votes in Mainpuri, the police arrested four members of the International Arms Smuggling Gang. The accused were trying to supply illegal arms in the district.
The SWAT team of Mainpuri district on Tuesday arrested four members of the international arms smuggling gang in an encounter. This gang used to sell arms to gangsters of Agra, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Haryana and Lucknow. SWAT team in-charge Vikram Singh, sub-inspector Jacob Fernandez and 20 pistols, heavy cartridges, Bolero car have been recovered from the arms smugglers caught by the team.
The smugglers who were caught by the police used to supply pistols to Nepal. The four were on their way to supply arms to those who created a ruckus in the assembly elections and after the counting of votes. Then he was arrested. The said gang was caught by Special Cell Delhi in 2018. Then 26 pistols were found from their possession. The interrogation of the arrested gun smugglers is going on.
