PRD jawans demanding honorarium payment in Meerut.
Due to non-receipt of salary in Meerut, the Diwali of the PRD jawans of the district remained dull. Despite the mandate, the soldiers of the Provincial Defense Team were forced to celebrate the festival of Diwali without pay. Desperate soldiers gave an application in the name of DM, alleging that money is demanded from them in lieu of payment of salary.
Diwali festival and pockets empty. Similar conditions were created for the Provincial Defense Team jawans of the district. Due to non-payment of salary in bank accounts till November 4, the despondent soldiers also complained to the DM. Due to empty pockets on the occasion of the festival, the PRD jawans were deprived of sharing the happiness of Diwali with the family.
Salary not paid despite mandate
Provincial Defense Team and Director General of Youth Welfare, Dimple Verma had written a letter to all the DMs of the state on 23 October itself, directing that in view of Diwali festival, salary or honorarium should be paid to all the personnel by November 1. He had told that the festival of Diwali is on 4th November. Hence all employees including government, semi-government, contractual or outsourcing employees. Salary or honorarium should be paid to all on November 1. Along with this, he had requested the DM to direct the district youth welfare and regional development team officer of the district from his level in this regard.
