Ashraf Ali Khan, MLA from Thana Bhavan of Rashtriya Lok Dal met Public Works Department Minister Jitin Prasad at his camp office in Lucknow on Thursday, demanding the construction of new bridges and roads in Shamli’s Thana Bhawan assembly constituency. MLA Ashraf Ali Khan handed over a list of more than two dozen roads to the Minister of Public Works Department.

He said that the condition of roads in Thanabhavan assembly constituency is very bad and there are potholes in the roads. Roads are completely broken. There was a demand to get them fixed on priority basis immediately. He said that in the past, the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal coalition government had taken the water of the Ganges up to the Eastern Yamuna Canal, providing relief to the people of the area, as well as getting the first confluence of Ganga and Yamuna. Due to this, thousands of devotees keep visiting daily. The bridge built at the confluence is very dilapidated and narrow. Similarly, the demand for reconstruction was made to the minister on the dilapidated bridge in village Bhaneda Udda on Thanabhavan Garhi Abdullah Road. A demand letter was handed over after detailed discussion with Public Works Minister Jitin Prasad regarding the construction of a new bridge from Kalawala Ghat to village Umarpur road in Jalalabad.
