The ground floor of the four-storey building that made CCTV cameras and routers caught fire in Delhi’s Mundka village was sealed about three years ago by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation with the help of the police. Senior sources in the corporation say that the building owner had rented out two of its floors by making a way from the other side and he lives with his family on the fourth floor. The factory was running illegally in the Seal Building, on this the role of not only the Northern Corporation but also the local police remains suspicious.
This building, built for the lives of 27 people, comes in the non-industrial area of Mundka village. Apart from this factory, many factories and godowns are also running illegally here. This area comes under the Narela Zone of the Northern Corporation. The police have arrested both the owners of the factory, Harish Goyal and Varun Goel.
This factory of Goyal brothers was also running without any license. In this regard, Narela Zone Deputy Commissioner Ranjit says that the factory owner had applied for a license a few years ago, but when his documents were checked, it was found that he had shown the location of the factory in the industrial area in the documents. That was wrong. He says that the license was not issued after the documents were found to be incorrect.
Senior sources of the corporation say that this factory was running illegally. The ground floor of this building was sealed by the Corporation Department along with the police about three years ago. Liquor shop was also running on the ground floor itself. After that the owner of the building had given its two floors on rent to the factory.
