About 3 months ago, the UP government sent a proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs to change the name of Jhansi railway station. Now accepting the same proposal, the name of Jhansi railway station was changed to Veerangana Laxmibai railway station.
It may take a month to change the code
After the release of the notification, now the code of the railway station will also be changed. After changing the code, the name Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station will be written at Jhansi station. This may take about a month. It is being argued on behalf of the government that even changing the name of the station can increase the possibilities of tourism in the area. Its benefit can also be seen in Bundelkhand area.
Government has changed the names of many stations
By the way, the state government has made it clear on many occasions that the names will be changed according to the need. Earlier, during his tenure, the Yogi government has made Faizabad into Ayodhya, Allahabad to Prayagraj, Mughalsarai to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar. This time the difference is that the government has named a railway station instead of the city. This decision of the government is considered very important in the election season.
The station is about to turn 133
Jhansi railway station will turn 133 on January 1. It was inaugurated on January 1, 1889. It was established by the Great Indian Peninsular Railway. In the beginning, only a few trains used to run on steam engines. Today this station is counted among the major stations of the country. More than 250 trains pass through here every day. These include VIP trains like Shatabdi Express, Gatimaan and Rajdhani Express.
