In Shravasti, in the last one year, 6621 adolescent girls have found solutions to their problems and doubts at two Saathiya centers of the district. The counselor of the same Saathiya center has counseled 17,774 adolescent girls at different places in the district. Adolescence 10 – Physical and mental changes are rapid at age 19. During this time the problems of adolescent girls vary as well as risks. A married or unmarried school going adolescent girls from rural or urban areas also have different sex information. They feel the need of a true partner to resolve the conflicts. They become victims of such activities or habits which directly affect their life.
Rapid physical and mental changes occur in adolescence
Dr. Sant Kumar, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Nodal Officer, Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram, RKSK, says that physical and mental changes take place rapidly in adolescence. At this age adolescent girls become sexually, mentally and practically mature. In such a situation, there are many such unresolved questions, apprehensions and curiosities in front of them. Keeping this in mind, Saathiya Kendra has been established at the district hospital and CHC under the National Adolescent Health Program (RKSK). In addition, they are being educated about nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, prevention of mental health injury and violence, and the ill effects of drugs.
In the last one year, about 24,395 adolescent girls have been provided services.
Babita Bajpai, District Program Coordinator of the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram, says that in the last one year, about 24,395 adolescent girls have been provided services. She informs that at present there are two Saathiya Kendras functional in the district. Where from January 2021 to December 2021, a total of 6,621 adolescent girls have registered themselves and consulted. Out of which 1117 have received solutions to the queries of sexual and reproductive health. 115 adolescent girls received mental health information and 3,065 received nutritional information. 667 cleared the doubts regarding non communicable diseases and 264 non communicable diseases
