SSP Ajay Kumar tried a lot to remove the displeasure of the students, but the students are still angry.
In the election year, unemployment and corruption in recruitment examinations have become a big issue in UP. Against this, on January 27, senior superintendent of police Ajay Kumar has complained to the Election Commission against the arrest of students shaving on the Sangam beach and the lathi-charge on students protesting on the track of Prayag railway station in protest against railway recruitment. The complaint has accused the SSP of acting as an agent of the ruling party. It has also been said that there has been a demand to remove the SSP with immediate effect.
Action should be taken against SSP immediately
Avnish Pandey, president of Competitive Student Conflict Committee, has written a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner. It has been said in the letter that an inquiry should be conducted against the SSP responsible for taking action against the students agitating peacefully. If found guilty, immediate action should be taken. Avneesh said that keeping in mind the election code of conduct, only two contesting students had gone to the Sangam beach for shaving. The program was going on peacefully, yet the police arrested the students and challaned them. Force was also used.
lathi charge on students protesting peacefully condemnable
Prashant Pandey, media in-charge of Competitive Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti, said that on January 25, students protesting peacefully on the railway track were lathi-charged alleging rigging in the NTPC exam. Even the students were brutally thrashed by the police after entering the lodge in Baghada, a competitive student-dominated area. Attempts were made to open their locked rooms with gun butts and kicks. This is despicable.
If the Election Commission does not take cognizance of the letter sent by the Speaker and does not take any action, then the contesting students will go to the court. Prashant says that without the orders of the SSP, the police will not lathi-charge nor will they enter the lodge and beat up the students.
