A student died on Saturday after a speeding pickup collided near the Kacha Baba temple in Jalhupur, Varanasi. After receiving information about the accident, the police of Chaubepur police station sent the body of the student for post-mortem. The incident had created a furore among the family members of the student. On the other hand, the accused driver fled after leaving the pickup after the accident.
Accident happened in front of house
Anuj Singh (18), the only son of Nagendra Singh, resident of Jalhupur under Chaubepur police station, had gone towards the road in front of his house for some work. At the same time, a speeding pickup going from sand to Chandra hit Anuj and hit an electric pole, crushing him. Anuj died on the spot in the accident. Anuj, a first year graduate student, was the younger brother of two sisters. After the death of Anuj in front of the house, his parents and sisters were in a bad condition.
Anuj’s mother and sisters were falling unconscious while crying. The people of Patidari and the villagers were handling the families of the victims with great difficulty. On the other hand, police station in-charge, Chaubepur Rajesh Tripathi said that with the help of the registration number of the pickup, the accused driver would be arrested soon.
Second incident: dead body found on the side of railway track
The dead body of a youth was found on the side of the railway track on Saturday evening near Sarangpur village under Jansa police station. On the information of the villagers, the police of Jansa police station reached the spot but the body could not be identified. According to the police of Jansa police station, the age of the youth seems to be about 45 years. He was wearing a checkered sweater, pink shirt and black pants. The police feared that the youth had died after falling from a train. At present, efforts are being made to identify the youth by keeping his body in the mortuary.
