The temperature of the city remained around 45 degrees on Saturday. By 10:00 in the morning, due to this scorching heat, there was silence on the streets. Only those who needed or went to work came out, but the people living in the houses were also troubled. The reason was power cut. Light was missing in many areas throughout the day. Due to overload, more faults increased and demand reached 700 MW. Apart from this, the shortage of staff also remained a problem. There was breakdown of twelve sub-stations and repair work continued from morning till late night. Due to which a population of about seven lakhs was affected. On Sunday also, power supply under three sub-stations will remain suspended.
There will be no electricity here today
Power supply is going to be disrupted in three substations on Sunday. Repair work will be done here. Shutdown will be taken from 08:00 am to 12:00 am for laying double line circuit line under 33 KV Chamanganj and 11 KV Gwaltoli feeder. . Due to this, the power supply in and around these areas will be stalled. Similarly, load shifting work will be done in B block substation of Dadanagar, due to which the electricity supply in and around Dadanagar will be stalled from 11 am to 1 am.

On Saturday, the supply of 11 KV Sujatganj and Chandari feeder of Dehli Sujanpur section remained on shutdown from 11:10 am to 01:00 pm due to laying of new cables. Similarly, the supply of 33 KV Sanjay Nagar feeder issued from Kanpur South (Ruma) of Wajidpur sub-centre of Jajmau section remained on breakdown from 12.15 to 01:35 for installation of jumper of Chhabelepurwa feeder.
Fault became the cause of trouble
The supply of Sarvodaya Nagar feeder under RTO sub-centre of Sarvodaya Nagar section was at breakdown from 01:00 pm to 02:00 pm due to underground cable fault. At the same time, the supply of Sarvodaya Nagar Regency, Substation Feeder and 11 KV Lajpat Nagar Feeder of Sarvodaya Nagar section itself was on breakdown from 1 pm to 02:45 pm due to cable fault.

Apart from this, the supply transformer of Keshav Vatika feeder of Keshavpuram sub-centre of Kalyanpur section was on breakdown from 06:50 am to 08:15 am on Saturday due to fire. The people of the city had to face trouble due to these faults and shutdown. His condition worsened in the scorching heat.
Load on Casco increased due to rise in temperature
With the increase in temperature in this scorching heat, the load on Kesco is also increasing. The reason is that ACs, fans, fridges and coolers keep running throughout the day. Due to this the load on the lines has started increasing. Now the demand of electricity in the city has reached to 700 MW. Apart from this, there is also a shortage of staff in Kesco. Due to this, if there is a fault somewhere, the linemen are not available and the power supply remains stalled for hours. The city dwellers have to bear the brunt of this. On normal days, the power load in Kanpur is about five hundred MW.
