Gorakhpur. Every drop of sweat of Annadata farmers is priceless, because it feeds the entire nation. If due to any reason his sweat irrigated crop is damaged, then the name of the ointment of full help on his financial and personal suffering is Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. In UP, 21.60 lakh farmers were insured under this scheme in the Kharif season 2021 of the year 2021-22. Out of this, crop compensation of Rs 654.85 crore has been paid to 7.02 lakh farmers till March 2022. In Gorakhpur alone, 21801 farmers have received compensation of Rs.13 crore 59 thousand in Kharif season.
Along with implementing all the schemes in the direction of doubling the income of Annadata farmers, the government of Double Engine also compensates for the damage caused to the crops. The labor of the farmer and his family in agriculture cannot be converted into a price. His desire is to produce a lot of food, but sometimes due to excessive rain, storm, storm, frost, snowfall, hailstorm, fire and pest infestation, the cost of his labor and farming becomes useless. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in January 2016 to compensate the farmers’ crops destroyed in the disaster and to provide economic support to the farmers. This scheme has given great relief to the farmers.
UP government put its full force
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has implemented this scheme of the central government at the gram panchayat level in all the districts of UP. In PM Fasal Bima Yojana, loanee farmers are compulsorily and other farmers are included on voluntary basis. The liability of the farmer in premium item has been fixed at maximum two percent in Kharif crop and maximum 1.5 percent in Rabi crop. For cash and horticultural crops, the liability of the farmer in premium item is maximum five percent. The entire amount in the form of grant, in the form of grant, is borne equally by the center and the state, in excess of the premium share to be borne by the farmer and the difference between the actual premier rate.
During the tenure of Yogi government till now, a total of 281.25 lakh insured farmers have got crops insured, in which compensation of Rs 3074.60 crore has been paid to 27.59 lakh farmers. This also includes payment of crop compensation of Rs 654.85 crore to 7.02 lakh farmers in Kharif season 2021. While in Gorakhpur, 55481 farmers got crop insurance in the 2021 kharif season, out of which 21801 received compensation of Rs 13 crore 59 thousand. Crop insurance has been done by 19.90 lakh farmers in Rabi 2021-22 across the state. Out of these 46828 are from Gorakhpur. The claim is under process by the farmers in Rabi season.
