A new director has been appointed in Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT). Professor in Biotechnology, IIT Madras, Prof. Rama Shankar Verma has been made the director. Will take charge in February. Professor Verma is a resident of Fatehpur in Prayagraj Mandal. There he studied till post graduate in Prayagraj. They have been appointed for five years.

Online application was taken till May 10
On behalf of the Union Ministry of Education, the last date for online application for director was fixed at 12 midnight on May 10. Apart from this, a copy of the application was to be sent through registered post or speed post by May 20. After the screening, after the interview, the search cum selection committee sent the list of the panel to the ministry. The current director of the institute, Prof. Rajiv Tripathi’s five-year term was completed in October 2021. After this, the ministry appointed Prof. Rajiv Tripathi’s tenure was extended.
RS Verma, a resident of Fatehpur, did his post graduate studies in Prayagraj. After this he was appointed as a demonstrator in MLB Medical College, Jhansi. After that went to Portugal. In 1985, he held the post of Scientist Pool Officer in JNU. Moved to America in 1987. Worked there for about 10 years. Presently working as Professor in Biotechnology, IIT Madras.
