After the lockdown in the state, the tourism industry is back on track. The department is flourishing due to the increase in the number of tourists. More than 1.5 crore devotees arrived in Ayodhya for Ramlala Darshan, while more than 40 lakh tourists came to get acquainted with the Lucknowi heritage. Similarly, due to the arrival of tourists in Varanasi and other religious places, the beauty has started returning. In UP, a total of 10 crore 97 lakh 53 thousand 172 tourists came to visit.
Tourist places in the state were closed due to the spread of Kovid infection. This brought the tourism industry to a standstill. The shortfall in the number of domestic and foreign tourists has now started to be fulfilled. The brilliance of the tourism industry can be gauged from the figures for the year 2021.
40 lakh 84 thousand 454 tourists came to Lucknow. These include a large number of domestic tourists in Residencies, Imambaras, Parks, Zoos etc. Whereas before the lockdown, 55 lakh tourists have been visiting Lucknow annually.
However, at present the number of foreign tourists visiting here is very less. It is recorded only 920. At the same time, one lakh 31 thousand 250 tourists reached Nimsar in Lucknow division. A large number of tourists arrived in Ayodhya. Officials are assuming the reason for the construction of Shri Ram temple.
According to the new figures, one crore 54 lakh 60 thousand 182 tourists came to Ayodhya, whereas last year this number was 60 lakh 22 thousand 618 and in the year 2019, two crore one lakh 49 thousand 392 tourists came for Ramjanmabhoomi Darshan. Similarly, 30 lakh 78 thousand 479 tourists arrived in Varanasi for Kashi Vishwanath Dham Darshan. Two thousand 566 foreign tourists have been included in this.

There are nine circles of tourism in UP. Out of these, the number of tourists has been highest in Agra division. There, 3 crore 71 lakh 70 thousand 456 tourists have come to see the Taj Mahal and its surrounding areas. 68 lakh 37 thousand 685 tourists in Jhansi division, 7 lakh 17 thousand 181 in Bareilly division, one crore 44 lakh 92 thousand 831 in Prayagraj division, 68 lakh 84 thousand 84 in Varanasi division, one crore nine lakh 17 thousand 340 in Lucknow division, One crore 13 lakh 57 thousand 38 tourists arrived in Meerut, one crore 94 lakh 97 thousand 216 in Ayodhya division and 18 lakh 79 thousand 341 tourists in Gorakhpur division.
