Mumbai. Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state unit chief Jayant Patil on Thursday claimed that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is being used to “harass and defame” people. Used to be. Talking to reporters in Ratnagiri, he said that his party leader and state minister Nawab Malik is bringing out the truth. Malik has leveled several allegations against NCB’s Mumbai Regional Director Sameer Wankhede.
Wankhede is at the center of politics after allegations of extortion in the cruise drugs case. Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested earlier this month in this case. Wankhede is facing a departmental vigilance inquiry over allegations of extortion.
Patil said, NCB is being used to defame, harass and keep people behind bars for a long time. This has happened with Aryan Khan and many others. It should be thoroughly investigated.
He said that the state minister Nawab Malik has made some claims (against the NCB officials), which can be corroborated by the documents. State Water Resources Minister said, Sameer Wankhede is facing investigation by senior NCB officials who have come to Mumbai. Everything about the certificates provided by him will be revealed in the coming days, how he joined the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and how he got the benefit of quota. I hope the committee (NCB Vigilance Investigation Team) has not come here to hide their misdeeds.
Responding to a question on Malik’s allegations against Wankhede, Patil said the minority affairs minister was bringing out the truth. He claimed, the central agencies are making mistakes and also diverting attention. These agencies are being used to harass the common citizens. Malik has repeatedly termed the Cruise narcotics case as “fake” and has leveled several charges against Wankhede, including illegal phone tapping and using forged documents to secure jobs. Wankhede has denied the allegations and denied any wrongdoing.
