Pakistan also gives more importance to Turkey as a Muslim country than Saudi Arabia. But PM Modi’s meeting with his Turkish counterpart may change many equations.
PM Modi throws water on hopes of talks between Pakistan, China
However, it was also discussed throughout the day that PM Modi can also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping. Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif also wanted a bilateral meeting with PM Modi. But both the leaders remained in waiting and the meeting did not take place. The diplomacy behind this may have been something else, but Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said that ‘all the meetings that were scheduled or for which we got the request, we have considered them’.

Meeting with Putin, lessons learned on Ukraine issue
PM Modi met Russian President Putin on Friday at the SCO summit. In this meeting, the Prime Minister discussed many topics with Putin. The eyes of the whole world were fixed on the meeting of the two leaders. The discussion was very positive. The two also discussed issues of crisis arising out of the Russo-Ukraine War. The two leaders discussed bilateral, regional and global issues. This is the first meeting between the two leaders since the war broke out in Ukraine in February this year. India has not criticized Russia for attacking Ukraine so far. India is emphasizing on resolving the crisis through dialogue. After the discussion, Putin also invited Modi to visit Russia. Prime Minister Modi expressed hope of further strengthening of Russia-India relations in the future. Earlier in the summit, PM Modi gave a big message on Ukraine to Putin in gestures.
