Devotees thronged the Ghats to offer Arghya to the rising sun in Varanasi on Thursday morning. A crowd of five people gathered at 84 ghats.
Chhath, the great festival of folk faith, was celebrated with enthusiasm all over UP. The four-day festival started with Nahay-Khay on 8th November, which ended with offering Arghya to the rising sun on 11th November 2021. Crowds of devotees gathered at the ghats in Varanasi, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Agra.
Sixth Vratis today offered Arghya to the rising (rising) Lord Surya after worshiping. By giving arghya, women wished for the happiness of the family. With this, Chhath, the festival of Suryapasana, which lasted for four days, came to an end.
At 84 ghats and other ghats of Kashi, more than 5 lakh fasting women gathered in worship. More than 11 lakh women offered Arghya at ponds and ponds including Gomtighat in Lucknow. Even at Sangam Ghat of Gorakhpur, Saharanpur and Prayagraj, women drenched in faith came to worship. In almost all the cities of the state, the administration made arrangements for security. Throughout the night Chhath Ghat resonated with the songs of Chhathi Maiya.

The maximum crowd in Prayagraj was seen on the banks of Sangam. Along with a large number of women, other members of their family also reached here.
After sunrise in Gorakhpur, all the devotees offer Arghya to the Sun God. With this the Nirjala fast of 36 hours came to an end.
